DME MAC Jurisdiction C NewsPodiatrists and DMEPOS Accreditation - Podiatrists are exempt from the accreditation requirement. While they were not specifically listed as an exempt provider in MIPPA, they are included under the definition of a physician as defined in section 1861(r) of the Social Security Act. The Pedorthists are not exempt from the accreditation requirement at this time.
