| DMECS – Durable Medical Equipment Coding System The Pricing, Data Analysis and Coding (PDAC) contractor maintains the Durable Medical Equipment Coding System (DMECS) on its web site, www.dmepdac.com. This interactive tool is useful for searching for HCPCS code descriptions, modifier descriptions, fee schedule and manufacturer specific Durable Medical Equipment Prosthetic and Orthotic Supplies (DMEPOS) that have been coded by the PDAC. This interactive tool provides one central location for product information that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The PDAC has recently updated the DMECS User Guide, which is located at https://www.dmepdac.com/dmecs/index.html. This guide provides an introduction of what DMECS is, how to locate it and how to use it. |
