Jurisdiction B News: Update - Express Plus Transitioning to PC-ACE Pro32

Update: Express Plus Transitioning to PC-ACE Pro32 The common electronic data interchange (CEDI) currently supports both Express Plus and PC-ACE Pro32 for billing durable Medical equipment (DME) electronic claims. After careful consideration, CEDI has decided to transition support to one free software; PC-ACE Pro32. As of April 1, 2010, the CEDI Help Desk will no longer support the Express Plus software.  CEDI feels this will best meet the needs of the DME Supplier Community. To prevent the loss of information for Express Plus users, a tool has been created to copy database information from Express Plus into the PC-ACE Pro32 software. The conversion tool and instructions to assist in copying the information and completing the conversion to PC-ACE Pro32 can be accessed from the CEDI Web site at the following link http://www.ngscedi.com/downloads/Downloadindex.htmNote: This conversion will not erase or delete any information currently stored in the Express Plus software. Benefits offered by the PC-ACE Pro32 software include:Stores and maintains the code lists including Diagnosis Codes, Procedure Codes, and Modifiers and receives quarterly updates for these code sets;Checks the claims for missing or invalid information and provides for easy editing by highlighting the missing or invalid information;Claim data entry is numbered according to the CMS-1500 paper claim form; Will be updated for version 5010 and be made available to PC-ACE Pro32 users. For more information about the PC-ACE Pro32 software, access the User Guide and help documents located on the CEDI Web site at the following link http://www.ngscedi.com/downloads/Downloadindex.htm If you are having difficulties with the conversion and additional assistance is needed, contact the CEDI Help Desk at ngs.cedihelpdesk@wellpoint.com or 866-311-9184.

Please join us for the eighth and final Special Open Door Forum (ODF) bidders conference for the Round 1 Rebid of the Medicare durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies (DMEPOS) competitive bidding program. At this Special ODF, we will respond to prospective bidders questions about the competitive bidding process. If you have questions you would like to submit in advance of the ODF, please e-mail them to CMS at cbic.teleconference@PalmettoGBA.com by November 1, 2009.  Reminder: Bidding is open. All bids must be submitted inDBidS, the on-line bidding system, by 9 p.m. prevailing Eastern Time on December21, 2009; all required hardcopy documents that must be included as part of thebid package must be postmarked by 11:59 p.m. on December 21, 2009. CMS urges all bidders to take advantage of the new covered document review process. Under this new process we will notify suppliers that submit their hardcopy financial documents by the Covered Document Review Date (CDRD) of any missing financial documents. The CDRD for the Round 1 Rebid is November 21, 2009 - financial documents must be postmarked by 11:59 p.m. on November 21, 2009 to qualify for the covered document review process.  Only suppliers that have registered and received a user ID and password will be able to access the on-line bidding system and submit bids. The target registration dates for Authorized Officials (AOs) and Backup Authorized Officials (BAOs) to register in CMS Individuals Authorized Access to the CMS Computer Services (IACS) system have passed. End Users (EUs), as well as any AOs and BAOs who have not yet registered, should now be registering. If the AO for your company has not already registered, we cannot guarantee that he or she willbe able to complete the registration process before registration closes. If your AO does not register, you cannot bid and will not be eligible for a contract. In addition, suppliers whose AOs have not registered are at risk of experiencing delays in accessing the on-line bidding system to get a bidder number and thereby missing the opportunity to submit financial documents by the CDRD. Registration will close on November 4, 2009 at 9:00 p.m. EST – no AOs,BAOs, or EUs can register after registration closes. Suppliers that do not register cannot bid and are not eligible for contracts.
