Register Now: Mobility Video Conference and Classroom Presentation at the University of Pittsburgh, June 18, 2009
Join Dr. Paul Hughes, medical director for Jurisdiction A, on June 18 as he provides an explanation of policy affecting manual mobility, power mobility, seating and positioning and new repair policy. Dr. Hughes will provide a fresh outlook to assist suppliers and clinicians during the process of patient evaluation, prescription, and delivery, and improved compliance outcomes.
Changes have catapulted providers into a state of confusion and at times, into financial loss. With Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) audits ramping up and moving to different states, timing could not be better to make sure your company understands mobility, seating, and service policies and ways to maintain compliance while providing optimum qualifying products to beneficiaries.
In the challenging healthcare environment before us, this program is imperative for all providers who continue to provide mobility, positioning, and repair services as well as for clinicians who evaluate and qualify patients for medically necessary durable medical equipment. Other dynamic and knowledgeable speakers will include Mark Schmeler, Ph.D., OTR/L, ATP, instructor and director of the Continuing Education Program in the Department of Rehabilitation Science & Technology at the University of Pittsburgh, who will illustrate documentation techniques that mesh with policy. Georgie Blackburn, vice president of government relations for BLACKBURN'S, will cover practical ways to remain compliant and give compliance quick tips to integrate into supplier operations relative to each policy. Significant time is also allotted for Q&A.
Attend in person or on line! This conference will take place at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences, Forbes Tower, Room 4060, Pittsburgh, PA 15213 on June 18. Contact Kim Kianka at kimk@aahomecare.org or Linda Szczepanski at szczepan@pitt.edu for more information. This workshop is also available online concurrent to the physical workshop. Register today at www.aahomecare.org.
CEUs will be awarded to participants attending in person or by video cast and significant time will be allotted for interactive Q&A after each presentation and at the culmination of the program. Previous audio difficulties have been fixed.
