Ask the Contractor Teleconference - March 17, 2009
On Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at 3:00 pm CT, NAS will conduct the DME Ask the Contractor Teleconference. During this teleconference, knowledgeable NAS staff representing a variety of functions will be available to answer your questions. If we cannot answer your question during the teleconference, we will research the issue and then call you with the answer.

CMS - Special Open Door Forum - Surety Bond Requirement for DMEPOS Suppliers
CMS will hold a Special Open Door Forum (ODF) to discuss the implementation of surety bonds for certain DMEPOS suppliers on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 from 2 - 3:30 p.m. ET.

Implementation of New Provider Authentication Requirements for Medicare Contractor Provider Telephone and Written Inquiries MLN Matters 6139
Effective April 6, 2009, when you call either the IVR system, or a CSR, CMS will require you to provide three data elements for authentication: 1) Your National Provider Identifier (NPI); 2) Your Provider Transaction Access Number (PTAN); and 3) The last 5-digits of your tax identification number (TIN).
