| Glucose Testing Supplies – Prepayment Review Update The National Government Services, Jurisdiction B Medical Review department continues to conduct a prepayment targeted medical review for glucose testing supplies billed with the KS modifier (non-insulin treated beneficiaries). This is a widespread random selection of submitted claims based on a targeted service(s) from multiple suppliers which are reviewed for medical necessity. The findings from this widespread service review during the first quarter of 2009 are showing that a large percentage of claims are being denied for lack of response to documentation requests.
