Revised Computer Based Training Courses Now Available The Jurisdiction B DME MAC strives to deliver detailed information through several resources including Medicare University. The Jurisdiction B Durable Medical Equipment Medicare Administrative Contractor (DME MAC) has updated all Computer Based Training Courses (CBTs) that are located in Medicare University. The computer based training courses are an interactive online tutorial, which have been developed to help assist in the dissemination of supplier information. The following updated CBTs are now available for suppliers:  DME-C-0001 The Introduction to Medicare 101 Intake Process is designed to assist suppliers with understanding the Medicare durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies (DMEPOS) program and the intake process. DME-C-0002 The Introduction to Medicare 101 Billing Process is designed to assist suppliers with billing durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies (DMEPOS) claims and understanding the final claim interpretation. DME-C-0003 Medicare SecondaryPayerwill provide specific details regarding Medicare Secondary claim submission for both paper and electronic submitters, how to screen Medicare beneficiaries and many educational resources are also provided throughout this training course. DME-C-0005 CMS-1500 Claim form will provide details on how to properly complete the CMS 1500 Claim Form version 08-05. DME-C-0006 Certificate ofMedical Necessity/DME Information Form will provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to properly complete Certificates of Medical Necessity and DME Information Forms. DME-C-0008 Glucose Monitors and Supplies will provide specific details regarding Glucose Monitoring Equipment and Supplies from understanding the diabetic patient and related testing equipment, to coverage criteria and documentation requirements. Detailed coding and proper billing instructions, as well as resource charts for day-to-day billing are also provided. DME-C-0009 Power Mobility Devices will provide specific details regarding Power Mobility Devices, the Local Coverage Determination, different components of power mobility equipment, coverage criteria and documentation requirements. DME-C-0010 Comprehensive Error Rate Testing teaches you about the CERT program and what documentation is needed from providers when a request from CERT is made. DME-C-0011 Advance Beneficiary Notice of Noncoverage provides the student with a basic understanding of the financial liability protection provisions and explains why, when and how to deliver an ABN. DME-C-0013 Total Electronic Environment will teach the benefits associated with using ERAs and EFTs to make your office totally electronic. DME-C-0014 Interruptions in Periods of Continuous Use will assist suppliers in understanding the difference between a break in billing and a break in need during a period of continuous use of capped rental equipment, parenteral and enteral nutrition pumps (PEN pumps) and oxygen equipment. DME-C-0015 Reopenings and Appeals will assist suppliers in understanding the difference between a reopening and the appeals process. DME-C-0016 Administrative SimplificationCompliance Act will provide details on the ASCA provision, the limited exceptions and what to do when an ASCA request for documentation letter is received. DME-C-0018 Medicare Privacy and Disclosure of Beneficiary Information will provide an understanding of the requirements of the Privacy Act of 1974 and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). DME-C-0019 Modifiers assist suppliers in the proper submission of HCPCS Level II modifiers and provide a resource for reference. DME-C-0020 Oral Anticancer Drugs assist suppliers in understanding the Oral Anticancer Drugs local coverage determination and policy article. The Jurisdiction B DME MAC has also created two demonstrators available in Medicare University. DME-C-0012 Claim Status Inquiry (CSI) will demonstrate key features of CSI. The step-by-step process shows participating and non-participating suppliers how easy it is to obtain claim status, beneficiary eligibility, and Certificate of Medical Necessity (CMN) & DME Information Form (DIF) status. DME-C-0017 Interactive Voice Response System will demonstrate key features and resources available for use with the IVR. To access Medicare University click on or paste the following link into your Internet browser:
